It is with sadness that I note my time in Zimbabwe has come to an end and this will be my last post on the beautiful country.  In honor of the wonderful experience I've had living in Harare, this post is a collection of my favorite photos from my time wandering Harare and beyond.

Curious what my favorite photographs from living in Senegal were? Go here!

Curious what my favorite animal photographs were? Go here!!

Take My Breath Away: Drowned Forest Sunset

 photo 21LKSunset-tiaphotoblog_zps2206f5c8.jpg
While visiting Lake Kariba, we watched a stunning sunset from a boat in the middle of the lake.
It reminded me of this absolutely take-my-breath-away sunset in Senegal.

Wow, wow, just wow.  Africa, you've pulled out the stops with this sunset.

 photo 15DrownedForest-tiaphotoblog_zpsab9a34a0.jpg
Lake Kariba is the world's largest artificial lake; when the Zambezi River was dammed, it flooded the forests in its path.

 photo 16DrownedForest-tiaphotoblog_zps39129e64.jpg
And it resulted in these amazing petrified forests.

The Return to Hwange

 photo 21HwangeSunset-tiaphotoblog_zps526b1242.jpg
I recently had the opportunity to return to the beyond wonderful Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe.
(How can you not love a place whose sunsets look like this?!)

 photo 22HwangeSunset-tiaphotoblog_zps0aeef14a.jpg
I returned to The Hide, a wonderful safari lodge, tucked away in the middle of Zimbabwe and was treated to this sunset the following night.
Oh, be still my heart, how I love sunsets.

 photo 23HwangeGiraffes-tiaphotoblog_zpscc15a25a.jpg
I was traveling with someone who was experiencing his first safari.  The moment of seeing something like these giraffes never grows old,
whether it's his first safari or mine, the number of which I've lost count.

 photo 24HwangeKudu-tiaphotoblog_zps8fc75105.jpg
Our safaris were marked with these beautiful female kudus, so gracefully when they run.

 photo 25HwangeZebra-tiaphotoblog_zpsd831cce8.jpg
Hwange has these stunning zebras and it's easy to be lost in the memorizing nature of their stripes.

 photo 26HwangeZebra-tiaphotoblog_zpsbe1f0a8d.jpg
Love this Zebra's head markings.

 photo 27HwangeGiraffe-tiaphotoblog_zpsee62c7a3.jpg
What is it about giraffes drinking that is always so comical?!

 photo 28HwangeElephantSkull-tiaphotoblog_zps540af501.jpg
An elephant's skull--this thing was huge and a little creepy.

 photo 29HwangeMoon-tiaphotoblog_zps34ff76f5.jpg
We had a full moon, visible even before the sun set!

 photo 291HwangeMoon-tiaphotoblog_zps1e82f182.jpg
Which boded well since we were also visiting Victoria Falls and I hoped we'd be able to experience the rare lunar rainbow!!

 photo WelcomeToHwange-tiaphotoblog_zps2926fc41.jpg
Remember this sign?  I laughed seeing it again--it brought back so many good memories
of my very first safari experience in the company of a wonderful friend.
(Oh! What luck I have to have such wonderful people with whom to experience this world!)
